More than a decade after their second album The Binding Sequence, Italy's finest heavy progressive metal outfit are back — and they've returned with everything intact: the melodic sophistication, the atmospheric depth, the sheer sonic power that earned them a loyal following in the Italian metal scene and beyond.

At the heart of the band stands a trio of founding members who have never lost their creative vision: Ivan Giannini on vocals, Constantin Terzago on keyboards, and Massimo La Russa on guitars. Together, they form one of the most cohesive and distinctive creative cores in Italian progressive metal — a chemistry that no amount of time apart could diminish.

Ivan Giannini is a voice unlike any other in the Italian metal scene. Known internationally for his tenure as lead vocalist of Vision Divine — Olaf Thörsen's celebrated power/progressive metal project — where he recorded the critically acclaimed When All the Heroes Are Dead (2019), Giannini brings to Elegacy a rare combination of power, range, and emotional depth. His voice carries a subtle, distinctive edge that sets it apart from the polished conventions of melodic power metal, making it instantly recognisable and impossible to forget.

Theory of Sin is not a nostalgic exercise. The album gathers material developed throughout a long and deliberate creative period, and the result is a record that honours the band's roots while pushing confidently forward — heavy-prog at its core, in dialogue with contemporary sounds, without ever sacrificing the melodic and atmospheric quality that defines the Elegacy sound. Joining the lineup in the studio is Federico Paulovich (Destrage) on drums, whose contribution brings an extra layer of energy and precision to the recording.
